In a deeply conservative area of the rural Alentejo Province, ECM has been planting an evangelical church in the town of Mora. Mora has about 2800 inhabitants and the ministry of the church planting project extends to the towns of Couço, Pavia, Cabeção, Brotas with an approximate total population of 6000. Following 10 years with little visible fruit, some significant spiritual movement has begun to happen. Public worship services are now taking place in the newly rented Christian Ministry Centre, which has significantly helped the church’s public profile and its ability to develop evangelistic and social ministries.
