Melody Jaskolski

As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long— though I know not how to relate them all. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. Psalm 71:14-18

Born in Australia, Melody spent the first 5 years of her life in the beautiful rural landscape of the Central Coast before spending the next 5 in the equally stunning rural Mid-North of Poland. Since then, Melody has gone back and forth between her homes for family events and holidays.

A friend invited her to a youth group at age 13, where the passion for Christ by her peers was not lost on her, and challenged her nominal Catholic religion. At 18, Melody was convicted that her faith needed to be a real relationship with Jesus, and to be placing him before all else – in her words, thoughts and actions. Throwing herself then for the next 10 years wholeheartedly in volunteering with church, especially in children and youth ministry, Melody saw the needs in the next generation as she worked in Outdoor Education Camps (with the wonderful family of CRU).

As an advocate for long-term relationship building in making and maturing disciples, during her last visit, Melody saw the growing apathy, anxiety and agnosticism in the next generations. Knowing that she has access and capabilities to be working in Poland, she has resolved to move there for the foreseeable future to help make Christ known to these young people. This vision brought her to study at SMBC, which connected her to ECM.

Her prayer – and she asks yours be too – that God will pour out His Spirit and bring a revival in the upcoming generations who will embrace the good news of the mercy of God, and raise more in Poland who would joyfully serve all their lives for God’s Almighty Name to be glorified. And that Melody can be faithful and diligent in the work God leads her to do.

Melody will be living in her family's hometown of Bydgoszcz in the Mid-North of Poland.
