Klaas & Eline Rozema

Jesus Christ is the greatest gift of all!

Austria_GermnayDeutsch

Jesus Christ is the greatest gift there is!

Why Austria?
Understanding God's voice and going where He says. That is what brought Klaas and Eline Rozema to Austria and is the heart of the work they are doing there.

When Klaas and Eline arrived in Austria (Innsbruck), it became clear why God had called them there. Innsbruck is a beautiful city in a fairytale mountainous landscape. There is much to do in terms of sports, vacations, culture and education. Everywhere you go, churches, chapels and crucifixes decorate the landscape. But the churches are empty inside. Not when it comes to statues or furniture – that often abounds. But the gospel and the love of Jesus have slowly decayed over time. Klaas and Eline believe they are called to change that. No matter how small. They do that together, but they also both have their own tasks.

Together for Austria
Klaas and Eline are associated with the Freie Evangelikale Gemeinde (FEG) in Innsbruck. This is their “home base,” where Klaas preaches regularly and Eline takes care of children's work. Together they also lead a Bible study group for young adults from the area who have just come to faith or want to learn more about it.

Activities Klaas
When Klaas is not in church, he can be found anywhere and everywhere. For example, he regularly visits a nursing home, occasionally preaches in prison and is active in making and maintaining contact with people to talk to them and pray for them. Street evangelism is also a part of his ministry. “I like to connect with people who are not following Jesus yet and try to build a relationship with them. Over the past few years I have seen a few Tyroleans come to faith in Jesus and I hope that many more may follow!”

In addition to his work for the FEG, Klaas is employed by Open Doors. For this work, he visits groups and congregations to talk about the persecuted church and what Open Doors is doing for persecuted Christians.

Work Eline
Eline has a heart for God and for children. “In my life, I have always wanted to be meaningful to children. I expect God's guidance there.” In short, she wants to tell children about Jesus and that he loves them dearly. In the FEG, therefore, she is responsible for children's services for children ages five to seven. But outside the FEG, she keeps a close eye on where God opens doors so she can tell children of Him. As a result, she is currently working at Jungschar, an interdenominational children's club, and with Ukrainian refugee children. Eline also values hospitality. “I want our door to always be open or the table to be extra set when people need it.”

In addition, Eline works in her full week as a sales assistant in TEDi.
